Qualifications

  • This position requires a U.S. person under ITAR due to export-controlled data.
  • ABET-accredited degree in Electrical/Systems/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of electrical controls experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 7+ years with a Master’s degree.
  • Proven design experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and motor controllers.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and ability to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the concept and engineering design development of electrical control systems.

Job Summary

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer who will contribute to the design, development, and execution of engineering projects while developing the leadership, project management, and team coordination skills necessary for future advancement into an Engineering Manager role. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, effective communication skills, and a desire to lead people, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Job Responsibilities


  • Drive the concept and engineering design development of electrical control systems.

  • Oversee and participate in design documentation, schematic design, electrical panel design, PLC and HMI programming, field installation and project commissioning.

  • Create a collaborative team culture that emphasizes continuous improvement, accountability, and learning.

  • Work cross-functionally with other engineering disciplines, project management, and external stakeholders to ensure the success of projects.

  • Develop and maintain department processes to align with industry standards and ensure high-quality deliverables.

  • Implement initiatives to enhance team efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall quality.

  • Support project budgeting, scheduling, and scope management to meet client expectations.

  • Provide high-level guidance on system architecture, design reviews, and tool adoption, empowering engineers to make informed decisions.

  • Provide oversight and technical support during the field commission, startup, and maintenance of electrical systems.

  • Establish and maintain departmental procedures and processes to align with company goals.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR due to access to export-controlled technical data.

  • B.S. Degree from an ABET-accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent control system design and programming skills.

  • 10 plus years of electrical controls experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 7 plus years of electrical controls experience with a Master’s degree.

  • Proven design experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and motor controllers.

  • Strong leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and develop engineers at all levels.

  • Ability to drive a positive team culture that fosters collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.

  • Proven experience in leading teams through cross-functional collaboration, ensuring alignment with company objectives and successful project delivery

  • Strong analytical skills with logical approach to problem solving and an aptitude for innovative technical solutions.

  • Ability to research, integrate, and apply innovative technologies in unprecedented ways with minimal oversight.

  • Strong understanding of team dynamics, with the ability to remove blockers and ensure smooth communication across departments.

  • Ability to lead by example, embodying company values, ethical standards, and a commitment to quality, safety, and schedule.

  • Willingness to travel (domestic and foreign) during installation and commissioning of projects, up to 5-10% of the time.


Preferred Qualifications


  • M.S. Degree from ABET accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Engineering

  • P.E. registration

  • Proficiency with Rockwell and Siemens controls hardware/software.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Eplan or other related drafting software.
