Job summary

Pfizer in Groton, CT seeks a lead electrical & energy systems engineer to provide technical leadership for 24/7 cogeneration, distribution, and control systems across a complex R&D campus. You will guide design, operation, and maintenance of critical utilities, partnering with Utilities Operations, Digital/Automation, and site leadership to optimize energy performance and reliability.

The role requires a BS in electrical engineering, 5+ years in industrial utilities with DCS/BMS/PLC experience;

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical generation and distribution including cogeneration.
Experience with DCS, BMS and PLCs in industrial or regulated environments.
Strong knowledge of utilities operations, maintenance, and engineering.

Responsibilities

Serve as SME or Site Engineer Lead for site electrical infrastructure, including medium- and low-voltage systems.
Lead cogeneration systems oversight including power generation, load balancing, and grid interconnection.
Drive energy demand management, peak load strategies, and load shedding initiatives.
Provide technical oversight for Distributed Control Systems, Building Management Systems, and PLC-based controls.
Develop maintenance strategies and lifecycle management for electrical systems.
Oversee capital projects and ensure contractor performance aligned with site standards.
Ensure compliance with EHS and Pfizer Quality standards.
