Job summary

General Motors seeks an experienced Senior Hardware Design Engineer – Low Voltage Electric Power to lead hardware design and execution for power components such as BMS, PDU, inverters, and related subsystems. You will drive cross-functional collaboration with software, DREs, PCB layout, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery while optimizing for cost, quality, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering is required; master's preferred.
• 7+ years designing automotive hardware electronics.
• Experience with digital/analog interfaces, schematics, PCB layouts, and documentation.
• Knowledge of EMC, environmental durability, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software, diagnostics, mechanical, and manufacturing teams for seamless integration.
• Lead embedded designs for advanced module architectures and new IC designs.
• Lead electrical schematic design and PCB layout; optimize designs for cost and reliability.
• Support design verification tests and end-of-line production tests.
• Provide technical leadership and cross-functional coordination across SMTs.
