Job summary

Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a seasoned Elastic Platform consultant to design and defend cluster topology, shard strategies, and data tiers. You will own sizing, capacity planning, and performance remediation across self-managed and managed deployments, including air-gapped environments.

Lead upgrades, disaster recovery, and multi-cluster architectures while mentoring peers and building reusable tooling. A strong Linux foundation and infrastructure insight are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on with the Elastic Stack, focused on cluster and platform work
• Ability to derive shard strategy and sizing from workload characteristics
• Experience diagnosing performance across stack and related systems

Responsibilities

• Design and build Elasticsearch platforms for customers across self-managed, orchestrated and managed deployments
• Own sizing and capacity planning from workload characteristics with benchmark validation
• Run health checks and remediation on production estates and redesign sharding/mapping
• Lead major-version upgrades, snapshots and disaster recovery strategy
• Diagnose performance problems across Elastic, JVM, OS, storage and network
• Engage with customer architects; present designs and own outcomes end-to-end
• Build reusable tooling and IP, including AI-assisted diagnosis tooling
• Mentor other consultants and contribute to GCC’s technical practice
