Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company is seeking an experienced EHS Leader to develop and maintain a culture of safety, health, and environmental excellence at the Romeoville site. You will oversee all EHS programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive injury reduction through training and investigations.

Lead safety meetings, audit compliance, and coordinate with operations, HR, and management to sustain a safe workplace and DOT/VPP standards across the CTS fleet and site operations.

Qualifications

• This role requires a bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of EHS work experience.
• Preferred: formal training in continuous improvement tools (Six Sigma, Lean, 5S).
• Experience in manufacturing or distribution settings is a plus.
• Leadership experience and DOT/VPP familiarity encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and lead Safety Team and Driver Safety Meetings
• Oversee logging regulations and verifications, including re-audits
• Support HR in interviewing and safety determinations and DOT requirements
• Develop and implement safety and health training and awareness programs
• Maintain regulatory compliance reporting, recordkeeping, and monitoring
• Collect and maintain employee data
• Investigate and report accidents and incidents with corrective actions
• Provide timely reports/audits to management and oversight
• Develop safety and environmental programs ensuring compliance
• Integrate risk control into daily operations
• Promote safe actions among all associates
• Administer CTS incentive and award program
• Train CTS on new safety laws and updates
• Coordinate location safety, health, and fire protection improvements
• Ensure employees are trained in safety, lift truck operation, and Hazard Communication
• Contribute to professional development and emergency intervention
• Ensure compliance with State Workers Compensation laws
