Job summary

Sherwin-Williams in South Holland, IL, seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to lead EHS programs at our manufacturing site. You will drive safety, health and environmental excellence, ensuring OSHA/EPA compliance while fostering a proactive safety culture.

Responsibilities include training development, managing the EHS system, performing inspections, and coordinating with regulators and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher or 4+ years of EHS experience.
• At least 3 years of EHS work experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety and health training and awareness programs.
• Plan, coordinate, and lead all site EHS training.
• Support employee-led safety committees.
• Manage the EHS Management System.
• Perform inspections, investigations, and analyses to minimize losses or environmental releases.
• Integrate risk control into daily operations.
• Maintain regulatory compliance reporting (OSHA, EPA).
• Provide timely reports and audits to management.
• Develop action plans to pursue or maintain OSHA VPP STAR status.
• Manage compliance related to State Worker’s Compensation and liaise with authorities.
• Act as liaison with Federal, State, Local enforcement agencies and internal support.
• Foster a positive safety culture with proactive interactions and floor presence.
