Job summary

Sherwin-Williams is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety professional in Illinois to oversee site EHS programs, coordinate with compliance efforts, and protect personnel and assets.

Responsibilities include developing safety programs, incident management, training, and fostering a strong safety culture. Travel is 5% and shifts are Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with flexibility to support across shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Minimum: associate’s degree or two years of work experience in EHS.
• Preferred: bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering or Business.

Responsibilities

• Develop and initiate programs and processes in partnership with site management to reduce frequency and severity of occupational injuries, illnesses, and property losses.
• Integrate risk/loss controls into daily operations with the organization.
• Support employee-led safety committees
• Maintain incident management systems and processes, including change procedures and documentation, and safety observation and hazard tracking systems
• Record and analyze incident records and make recommendations regarding corrective action, emphasizing proactive intervention
• Support implementation of practical compliance with safety, health, and environmental laws and regulations
• Plan, coordinate, and lead all site EHS training
• Foster a positive safety culture through professional and proactive interactions with employees and maintaining a strong shop-floor presence
