Job summary

Qualifications

• Process Safety Management (PSM) experience within a chemical, API, petrochemical, refining or other high-hazard manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, the Clean Air Act, and hazardous waste and wastewater regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
• 8+ years of experience in chemical, pharmaceutical or industrial manufacturing (10+ years of EHS experience preferred)
• Strong communication skills and leadership presence, with the ability to influence without authority
• Available for on-call and after-hours support as needed

Responsibilities

• Lead all EHS programs for the site and serve as a critical member of the site leadership team, reporting to the Site Manager
• Oversee Process Safety Management (OSHA 1910.119) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) compliance, including PHAs, LOPA studies and Management of Change
• Drive a culture of safety, engagement and accountability through behavior-based safety and leading-indicator programs
• Lead incident response and investigations, including process safety and loss-of-containment events; serve as a key communicator during site emergencies
• Manage environmental compliance, industrial hygiene and occupational health programs, including permitting, reporting, exposure monitoring and health screening
• Build, develop and coach a team of Environmental and Health & Safety specialists, and oversee site security
• Maintain a strong, visible presence in the plant, engaging regularly and authentically with employees at all levels
• Partner across operations, engineering, maintenance, quality and occupational health to improve performance
