Job summary

Bimeda, Inc. in the Minneapolis area seeks an experienced EHS Specialist to lead environmental, health and safety programs.

You will collaborate with operational leaders to design and implement policies compliant with OSHA, EPA and local regulations, promote a strong safety culture, and improve performance across multiple sites. The role is hybrid, requiring three days onsite weekly with additional onsite presence as needed, and occasional travel within the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Management or related field.
• 6+ years of experience managing EHS programs in industrial settings with regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
• Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and other EHS regulations.
• Experience in multi-site operations.
• Proven experience developing, implementing and managing comprehensive EHS programs.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise leadership and staff across multiple sites on all EHS matters.
• Develop and implement robust safety management systems ensuring OSHA/EPA compliance.
• Lead development of EHS policies and training programs to foster continuous safety improvement.
• Support supervisors in incident investigations, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Oversee environmental compliance including waste management, air quality controls and hazardous materials handling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on safety and environmental initiatives during new equipment, plant expansions, and process changes.
• Monitor workplace conditions, conduct safety inspections and perform JHA and risk assessments.
• Lead safety audits and remediation planning to meet regulatory and company standards.
• Partner with managers to engage employees in EHS programs and promote a safe work environment.
• Report EHS metrics to senior leadership and propose continuous improvement strategies.
• Participate in sustainability initiatives and promote environmentally responsible practices.
• Occasionally support other shifts, including nights or weekends.
• Maintain strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
