Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services seeks a Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist to lead safety and compliance across a growing multi-site network. You will partner with Operations, Fleet, HR, and site leadership to strengthen workplace safety and regulatory compliance while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires expert audits, incident investigations, safety training design, and mentorship of junior staff, operating with independence and sound judgment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5–7+ years EH&S leadership across multiple sites in manufacturing, logistics, or healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and medical waste regulations.
• Experience leading safety audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Professional CSP/ASP/HAZWOPER or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead EH&S programs across multiple locations, partnering with operations and site leadership.
• Own complex safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action plans.
• Design and deliver employee safety training and regulatory programs.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual compliance reports for leadership.
• Mentor junior EH&S staff and champion continuous improvement.
