Job summary

ERM, the world’s leading sustainability consultancy, is hiring a Consulting Senior Associate, EHS in the San Francisco Bay Area, with flexibility to work from Menlo Park, San Jose, Oakland, San Francisco, Santa Clara, or Sunnyvale. You’ll help shape safer workplaces for top clients and lead on-site EHS initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, engineering, or related science OR equivalent work experience (2 years = 1 year education).
• 1+ year of relevant experience.
• Ability to travel across San Francisco Bay Area, San Jose, Santa Clara and San Mateo areas.
• Strong understanding of local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or in cross‑functional teams.
• Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite client support to address pressing EHS challenges.
• Perform audits, assessments, and safety process improvements in areas such as: Behavior-Based Safety; Chemical & Lab Safety; Electrical Safety / NFPA 70E; Industrial Hygiene; Robotics Safety; Process Hazard Assessments; LOTO.
• Assist in developing and implementing programs for HazComm, IIPP, PSM, and more.
• Investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions are in place.
• Assist in managing projects to meet scope, budget, and schedule targets.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to deliver high‑quality results.
