Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks Principal/Sr Principal Electrical Components Engineers in Woodland Hills, CA to advance EEE components for high-reliability space programs. You will evaluate and qualify parts, manage BOMs, and support procurement with suppliers.

The role requires DoD clearance eligibility and strong collaboration with design and manufacturing teams. The position offers a 9/80 schedule with relocation assistance and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relative experience; Master's with 3+ years (Level 3).
• Experience obtaining/maintaining DoD Secret clearance or higher.
• Experience in military/space electronics design or manufacturing.
• Familiar with selection and application of EEEE components.
• Experience developing component data/drawings and selecting EEEE parts.

Responsibilities

• Select and apply Electrical, Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, Electro-Optical parts (EEEE) incl. Microcircuits, Connectors, Passive Devices, PCBs.
• Create Component Specifications or Source Control Documents to meet requirements.
• Lead qualifications of new EEEE components for Circuit Card Assembly designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and vendors to resolve qualification and test issues.
• Manage BOM, part requests, part objects, and part attributes in PLM.
• Support supply chain with procurement requirements and supplier selection.
• Tailor EEEE part requirements to system/subsystem/unit specs.
• Support subcontractors with EEEE requirements interpretation and SDRLs.
• Perform BOM analysis and generate PRs and engineering changes.
• Assist design team with derating and consistency with criteria.
