Job summary

Vast in Long Beach is seeking a Senior Electronic Parts Engineer to support design and build of human-rated space stations and high‑power satellite buses. You will lead EEE parts control, advise on part selection, and drive reliability across engineering, quality, and supply chain teams.

This full-time exempt role reports to the Senior Manager, EMI-EMC and is based in Long Beach, CA. Experience with space electronics standards and radiation effects is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, material science, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or related discipline with 5+ years in engineering.
• Or an Associate’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and operate EEE parts control plans for Vast’s human-rated space station and high-power satellite bus programs.
• Tailor from industry standards such as EEE-INST-002, NASA-STD-8739.11 for reliability, cost and development rate.
• Manage Vast EEE Parts Database for vendor/part screening and qualification, monitoring GIDEP, SiliconExpert, Z2Data.
• Advise design engineers on electronic part selection and reliability (FMECA/PFMECA).
• Support component failure analysis through NDA, DPA, X-Ray, CT Scan, SEM, Cross-Sectioning.
• Foster collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
• Exemplify a culture of excellence, extreme ownership, and safety.
