Job summary
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to support the Sentinel program in Roy, UT. The role involves collaborating with design engineers to select and apply EEEE components, generating specifications, and reviewing BOMs to meet program needs.
The position requires a STEM degree with several years of relevant experience, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain Secret and SAP clearances.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline and 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master’s; 1 year with PhD.
- Experience in military/space electronics design or manufacturing.
- Experience with selection and application of EEEE components.
- US Citizen and ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance; SAP clearance eligibility.
Responsibilities
- Work with design engineers in selection and application of EEEE parts, including microcircuits, connectors, passive devices, and PCBs.
- Create Component Specifications or Source Control Documents to meet program requirements.
- Review BOMs, new part approvals, and part attributes in PLM systems.
- Support Supply Chain with procurement requirements and supplier choices.
- Assist subcontractors with EEEE part interpretation and SDRLs.
