Job summary
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to support the Sentinel (GBSD) program in Roy, UT. The role focuses on electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components for space and defense systems.
Responsibilities include selecting and applying EEEE parts, creating specifications, and coordinating with manufacturing, suppliers, and subcontractors to meet program requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in a STEM field with 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master’s; 1 year with PhD.
- Experience with selection and application of EEEE components.
- Must be a US citizen and able to obtain/maintain Secret clearance and SAP clearance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
- Work with design engineers on selection and application of EEEE parts (EE/EC/ME/EO) including microcircuits and PCBs.
- Create Component Specifications or Source Control Documents per Program Requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and vendors to resolve qualification, producibility, and test issues.
- Review BOMs, new part approvals, and part attributes in PLM.
- Support Supply Chain with procurement requirements and supplier selection.
- Assist Subcontractors with EEEE part requirements and SDRLs.
