Job summary

Del Mar College is seeking a part-time Senior Education & Recreation Instructor in Continuing Education to evaluate students, manage course materials, and maintain attendance and grade records.

The role requires six months of teaching or program leadership experience and experience with older adults, with an emphasis on clear syllabus-based instruction and diverse teaching methods, including instructional technologies.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months experience teaching, facilitating, or leading recreational, educational, community, or senior-focused programs.
• Previous experience working with older adults.
• Ability to plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline to ensure objectives are met.
• Ability to utilize a variety of teaching styles to accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Ability to utilize instructional technologies, including computers and internet resources in instruction.

Responsibilities

• Plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline provided to ensure course content and objectives are met.
• Utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate various learning styles of students.
• Utilize instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction.
• Maintain daily attendance rosters.
• Input final student grades into WebDMC.
