Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Software Developer (EDI) for a fully remote US-based role. You will own EDI workflows, data validation, and partner integrations, interfacing with Edifecs components, AWS cloud, and cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in Edifecs/Edi healthcare, strong SNIP and X12 expertise, and excellent communication. A US citizenship and Public Trust (MBI) clearance are required; this is a W-2, full-time position supporting Veterans Affairs

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Edifecs product experience in EDI, healthcare, or enterprise operations
• 8+ years of HIPAA experience
• Strong understanding of X.12 loops/segments/elements and SNIP validations (1–7)
• Experience with Edifecs XEngine validation results and processing rules
• Cloud experience in AWS environments and secure data architecture
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Responsibilities

• Own EDI workflows, partner requirements, and data validation rules
• Ensure accurate transaction processing and support business operations
• Interpret and troubleshoot 270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, 834, 835, 837, 999/277CA
• Document mapping/logical requirements for partners and changes
• Collaborate with stakeholders for issue resolution and impact assessments
• Support audit/compliance reviews and data quality guardrails
• Work with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps, Cloud teams, and business teams
• Manage AS2/SFTP/HTTPS flows and Edifecs routes/routes rulesets
