Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Software Developer (EDI) for a fully remote role supporting Veterans Affairs. You will own EDI workflows, data validation, and partner integrations including 270/271, 276/277, 820, 835, and 837.

Requires 8+ years in Edifecs/EDI and HIPAA, AWS experience, and U.S. citizenship with Public Trust clearance. This is a 100% U.S.-based remote position with standard full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Edifecs product experience in EDI, healthcare, or enterprise operations
• 8+ years of HIPAA
• EDIFECS certification

Responsibilities

• Own functional EDI workflows, partner requirements, and data validation rules
• Interpret and troubleshoot transaction sets: 270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, 834, 835, 837, 999/277CA
• Document mapping/logical requirements for new partners and integration changes
• Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps, Cloud teams, and business teams
• Work with AS2, SFTP, and HTTPS flows; validate payloads and error flags
• Query SQL for transaction details and reconcile mismatches between raw EDI and stored data
• Support audit/compliance reviews and maintain data quality guardrails
