Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Software Developer (EDI) for a 100% remote U.S. based role. You will own EDI workflows, partner mappings, and data validation while ensuring accurate transaction processing and SNIP compliance.

Strong Edifecs experience, AWS cloud skills, and collaboration with DevSecOps and business teams are required. The role requires U.S. citizenship with Public Trust clearance and a bachelor’s degree in a technical field.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Edifecs product experience in EDI, healthcare, or enterprise applications
• Experience with EDI HIPAA
• Proficient in Edifecs logs and error analysis at segment/element level
• Strong understanding of X.12 loop/segment/element interpretation and SNIP validations
• Experience with AWS cloud environments and security considerations
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Responsibilities

• Own functional EDI workflows, partner requirements, and data validation rules
• Ensure accurate transaction processing and support business operations
• Interpret and troubleshoot transaction sets: 270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, 834, 835, 837, 999/277CA
• Analyze SNIP compliance, companion guides, and partner-specific validation rules
• Document mapping/logical requirements for new partners and integration changes
• Partner with business stakeholders for issue resolution and operational impact assessments
• Support audit/compliance reviews and maintain data quality guardrails
• Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps Engineers, Cloud teams, and business teams
• Work with AS2, SFTP, and HTTPS flows
• Validate data with non-X.12 partners
• Identify issues from middleware or APIs
• Query SQL for transaction details
• Validate payloads, timestamps, statuses, and error flags
• Reconcile mismatches between raw EDI and stored data
