Job summary

DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Underwriter for the E&S Property Division in a hybrid role with travel up to 25%. You will shape underwriting framework, evaluate complex submissions, and balance risk, coverage, and profitability.

You will lead with a team of underwriters, handling non-admitted markets, complex placements, and portfolio growth while mentoring others and ensuring profitable results. Strong broker relationships and industry knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance, business or related field.
• 5–8 years of underwriting experience.
• Professional certifications such as CPCU, AU or similar preferred.
• Strong understanding of technical underwriting principles.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex insurance risks within granted authority and assess exposure.
• Ensure submissions meet underwriting standards and profitability.
• Curate a portfolio with guidance but more discretion than a typical underwriter.
• Identify changes in risk exposures and loss trends to maximize profitability.
• Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and renewal targets.
• Mentor colleagues and provide technical guidance as needed.
• Travel up to 25% for client meetings and industry events.
• Negotiate with producers to achieve profit objectives.
