Job summary

DUAL North America, Inc. in San Diego, CA, seeks a Senior Underwriter for the E&S Homeowners division to manage complex risks and agency partnerships. This is a hybrid role with 20-30% travel and a focus on profitability and underwriting discipline.

The Senior Underwriter will underwrite within authority, develop agency relationships, and guide teammates while ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant underwriting experience in California and western states.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills with risk assessment expertise.
• Experience in agency relationships and portfolio profitability.

Responsibilities

• Assess risk, allocate rate, apply terms and drive profitability growth.
• Grow production and client retention to meet goals.
• Underwrite using guidelines within authority and regulatory laws.
• Review inspections and mitigate hazards through recommendations.
• Develop and maintain agency relationships with the distribution team.
• Provide guidance and development for other team members.
• Support onboarding and training of new agents on guidelines.
