Job summary

Hamilton is seeking an Executive Underwriter for US Property to lead the development, launch, and expansion of our U.S. E&S Property portfolio. This hybrid/remote role reports to the Head of U.S.

Property and focuses on E&S property placements, including CAT exposures, for middle market and commercial entities. You will drive a high-volume production flow, manage broker partnerships, and contribute to building a modern E&S platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as an experienced underwriter in E&S Property
• Proven profitable results in a fast-paced, high-volume underwriting environment
• Strong technical expertise in E&S Property risk drivers (CAT exposure, modifiers, construction, regional dynamics)
• Experience with smaller, niche E&S risks where speed and broker partnerships drive success
• Established wholesale broker relationships with a track record of expanding trading flow
• Ability to balance analytics (CAT models, pricing tools) with broker input
• Strong negotiation skills and decision-making under pressure

Responsibilities

• Drive high-volume production by sourcing and underwriting E&S Property submissions
• Engage brokers daily to generate submission flow and expand trading relationships
• Triages and prioritizes opportunities with highest probability of binding
• Evaluate risk quickly using CAT insights, pricing tools, and prudent judgment
• Negotiate and issue quotes; bind accounts within authority
• Maintain market presence through broker meetings and travel to key partners
• Ensure underwriting discipline while achieving production targets
• Mentor new team members as the portfolio grows
