DUAL North America is seeking a Senior Underwriter for the E&S Homeowners division in California. The role focuses on underwriting complex risks within authority, developing agency partnerships with the Distribution team, and ensuring profitability across the portfolio.

You will uphold underwriting guidelines, serve as a resource for agents, and drive performance against underwriting goals. Travel 20-30% for client meetings and industry events, while maintaining balance and efficiency in daily

Qualifications

7+ years of underwriting experience in California and western states.
High level understanding of technical underwriting principles and risk assessment.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision‑making skills.
High level broker/client engagement and relationships.

Responsibilities

Assess risk, allocate rate, apply terms and drive profitability in line with DUAL strategy.
Emphasize production growth and retention to meet goals.
Underwrite complex risks within authority using guidelines and laws.
Review inspections promptly and mitigate hazards.
Develop agency relationships through visits, calls, and virtual meetings.
Provide guidance and development to other team members.
Maintain strong internal and external business relationships.
Participate in portfolio reviews and ensure carrier compliance.
