Job summary

TEKsystems in Seattle is seeking an experienced network engineer to design, build and rollout global DWDM networks. You will drive scalable designs and create processes to operate and expand the optical network, collaborating with other Networking teams.

The role emphasizes evaluating new products, driving commercial tender processes, ensuring adherence to standards, reviewing changes on optical systems, and delivering innovative solutions for reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technology-related field.
7+ years industry experience in networking.
Experience with optical planning modelling tools and large DWDM rollouts.
Strong IP networking fundamentals and IP protocols.
Deep knowledge of DWDM platforms and router platforms (Cisco/Juniper).
Experience with BGP and OSPF and robust troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

Design, build and rollout global DWDM networks.
Drive scalable designs to meet customer demand.
Create processes to operate and expand the optical network.
Collaborate with other Networking teams.
Evaluate new products and drive tender processes.
Ensure optical network adheres to defined standards.
Review and implement changes on optical systems.
Drive operational excellence projects to improve network quality and reliability.
Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions day to day.
