Job summary

Molex is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our Network Operations team in the United States. You will deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize high-capacity optical transport networks, collaborating with NOC, field technicians, and engineering teams across global sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, optical engineering, computer science or related field.
• At least 5 years’ experience with live network deployment, migration and operations.
• Hands-on experience deploying and migrating optical networks.
• Experience with optical transport systems and troubleshooting.
• Experience with DWDM, CWDM, ROADM, OTN, SONET/SDH, and Ethernet over fiber.
• Experience with components of optical networks: Transponders, Mux/Demux, WSS, EDFA, RAMAN, OSC, OTDR.
• Field-based work in POPs, data centers and Central Office environments.
• Proficiency with network management tools: Ciena OneControl, Infinera DNA, Nokia NFM‑T.
• Automation/scripting (Python, Ansible) in networking.

Responsibilities

• Support build activities in large-scale optical networks spanning data centers and POP sites.
• Plan and perform complex optical and backbone deployments and migrations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with optical transport equipment and connectivity.
• Maintain standards for DWDM systems and network documentation.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to network emergencies after hours.
• Provide guidance during deployment activities and review vendor documentation.
