Job summary

Vultr in the United States is seeking a Senior Optical Network Engineer to design, implement, test, and optimize advanced optical transport networks. You will lead deployments, troubleshoot complex DWDM/ROADM/OTN systems, and collaborate with field teams to ensure uptime and performance.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with carrier-grade Ethernet, fiber transmission, 100G–800G deployments, and vendor platforms from Ciena, ADVA, Nokia and others.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in DWDM, ROADM and OTN systems for carrier, data center, and long-haul networks.
• Experience with testing, optimization, and fault diagnosis of optical transport networks.
• Ability to lead deployments, upgrades, and provide Tier III technical support.

Responsibilities

• Design optical transport solutions using DWDM, ROADM, OTN, and Carrier Ethernet.
• Configure and troubleshoot optical platforms from multiple vendors.
• Perform power analysis, span engineering, and link budget calculations.
