Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability in Midtown East, Manhattan is hiring an Assistant Supervisor to lead a direct care team and support DSPs with administrative duties. The role involves scheduling, training, and ensuring program compliance while maintaining person-centered care for individuals with I/DD.

The position requires a relevant degree or substantial direct care/ supervisory experience, plus necessary certifications (SCIP-R, CPR, AMAP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Healthcare or related field with 6 months of I/DD experience.
• Alternative: high school diploma with 2 years related experience including supervision.
• 4+ years direct care experience in a YAI program or equivalent.
• Foundational SCIP-R, CPR and AMAP certifications required.
• Valid NY Driver's license and van certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care supervision and leadership on shift.
• Assist with staffing and scheduling using electronic systems.
• Oversee program financials including petty cash and expenditures.
• Coordinate supply needs and manage inventory.
• Ensure training and credentials for staff are completed.
• Model professional behavior and escalate issues to leadership.
• Lead crisis de-escalation and health/safety protocols.
