YAI is hiring an Assistant Supervisor in Nassau County to lead direct care teams and assume administrative responsibilities such as training, scheduling, and systems management. You may supervise DSPs and work across homes, day habilitation centers, and community settings.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma, preferably some college, and DSP experience is valued. Evening shifts with a weekend day are typical, with excellent growth within a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Prior Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience strongly preferred, but not mandatory.
• Ability to lead by example and serve as a role model within teams.
• Strong interpersonal problem-solving skills are essential.
• Able to accept and apply feedback.
• Flexible with schedule; evenings and at least one weekend day.
• Full-time schedules; evenings with one full day on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead direct care teams, with administrative duties including training, scheduling, and systems management.
• Oversee and sometimes supervise DSPs.
• Work in clients’ homes, family homes, YAI residences, day habilitation centers, or community settings as needed.
