Job summary

Leidos is seeking a cleared Senior Wide Area Network Engineer to design, operate, and sustain long-haul transport for DoD networks. You will lead BGP routing architectures, escalate complex WAN faults, and coordinate circuit upgrades with DISA service delivery nodes and providers.

The role requires Top Secret clearance (SCI possible), 8+ years of WAN experience, and certifications like CCNP or JNCIP-SP. Expect on-site responsibilities in a DoD environment with hybrid tasks and RMF/IAVA

Qualifications

Clearance: US Citizen with at least a Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a SCI prior to start date.
8+ years of hands-on enterprise WAN engineering and operations experience in a DoD environment.
Expert-level BGP configuration, policy tuning, and peering across DISN/service delivery points.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain BGP routing architecture across the enterprise WAN and peering relationships.
Serve as escalation authority for WAN faults and complex path issues.
Engineer circuit installations, migrations, and site cutovers with rollback plans.
Maintain routing policy standards and authoritative network documents.
Configure QoS/TE to prioritize command/control and VoIP traffic.
Apply DISA STIGs and RMF/IAVA remediation; support POA&M closure.
Coordinate maintenance actions with DISA, NOC/SOC, and providers.
Monitor WAN health with SolarWinds, NetFlow, SNMP; provide capacity recommendations.
Manage Type 1 encryptor configuration for secure enclave connectivity.
Mentor junior admins and represent WAN at review boards.
