Job summary

Leidos Defense Sector seeks a cleared WAN Engineer (2nd Shift) to engineer, operate, and sustain long-haul transport and routing infrastructure across DoD networks. The role is on-site at Langley AFB with core hours 4:00 PM–12:00 AM and involves BGP, circuit management, and encryption coordination.

Responsibilities include policy development, DISA/STIG compliance, RMF activities, and collaboration with DISA/NOC teams.

Qualifications

• Clearance: US Citizen with at least an active Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain SCI prior to start date.
• Education: Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience or Master's with 2+ years. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Certifications: DoD 8570/8140 IAT II (Security+ CE or equivalent) plus CCNP Enterprise/JNCIP-SP or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: 4+ years of hands-on enterprise WAN engineering and operations in a DoD environment.
• BGP Expertise: Configure and troubleshoot eBGP/iBGP with complex policies and multi-site peering.
• Routing & Transport: Proficiency with OSPF/EIGRP/MPLS VPNs/VRFs and IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack.
• Platforms: Hands-on Cisco/Junos routing platforms in production networks.
• Encryption & Circuits: Type 1 encryptors and DISA lifecycle actions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain BGP routing architecture across the enterprise WAN including peering and route policy enforcement.
• Execute circuit installations, migrations, bandwidth upgrades, and site cutovers with rollback plans.
• Develop and maintain routing policy standards and network documentation with topology diagrams.
• Apply DISA STIGs and support RMF IAVA remediation and POA&M closure.
• Coordinate maintenance with DISA, NOC/SOC, providers, and site personnel for outages.
• Monitor WAN health using SolarWinds, NetFlow, and SNMP; produce capacity analyses for leadership.
• Manage Type 1 encryptor configuration and key management for secure enclave connectivity.
