Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the Defense Enclave Services (DES) at Fort Meade, MD. The role focuses on discovery, design, and migration to the DoDNet environment, with emphasis on secure network solutions and DoD compliance.

The successful candidate will design secure WAN/LAN, participate in capacity planning, and drive implementation plans across complex DoD IT services. Active DoD Secret clearance is required, with the potential to obtain Top Secret.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Active DoD Secret clearance; ability to obtain Top Secret.
• DoD IAT Level II (Security+) certification or equivalent prior to start.
• CCNA (or equivalent) network certification required.
• Experience documenting logical/physical designs using drawing tools (Visio, Gliffy, Cameo, etc.).
• Broad exposure to LAN, WAN, TCP/UDP, IPSec, VPN, Proxies, Routing (L2/L3), Firewalls.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design secure network solutions for enterprise connectivity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to assess legacy environments and develop designs.
• Design secure WAN including underlay/overlay/COI transport for performance and security.
• Provide secure access solutions using wired/wireless technologies and transition plans.
• Incorporate capacity planning and scaling into network designs.
• Identify optimization strategies to meet performance standards.
• Develop strategies for legacy paths and to-be enterprise services.
