Job summary

ASEC in Virginia Beach seeks a Network Engineer to design, implement, secure, and sustain complex enterprise and DoD networks that support Navy LVC training. You will enable real-time data exchange and large‑scale exercises across distributed environments.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in IT/CS/CE/Cybersecurity with at least six years of experience and an active DoD Top Secret clearance; DoD IAT II certification is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field with at least six years of professional network design/implementation experience.
• Experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and NM systems in enterprise/DoD environments.
• Experience with classified/unclassified networks, including segmentation, boundary defense, and secure remote connectivity.
• Knowledge of network monitoring, performance optimization, and troubleshooting across dispersed locations.
• Experience supporting RMF compliance, vulnerability remediation, and DISA STIGs.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise and tactical network architectures.
• Support classified and unclassified training networks.
• Configure routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and NM systems.
• Maintain network availability and performance across dispersed locations.
• Support connectivity between live platforms, simulators, command centers, and participants.
• Implement boundary defense solutions and network segmentation.
• Maintain firewall rules and access controls.
• Support cybersecurity audits and RMF compliance.
• Monitor network traffic for anomalies and lead during major events.
• Rapidly resolve connectivity issues affecting training realism.
