DoD Network Engineer – LVC & Cyber Security Lead

Job summary

ASEC is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, secure, and sustain Navy LVC training networks supporting distributed simulations and real-time data exchanges. This on-site role is based in Lexington Park, MD, with periodic travel to Virginia Beach, VA for the Global LVC Operations Center.

The candidate will lead network operations, including boundary defense and RMF compliance, and must hold an active DoD Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Experience supporting classified and unclassified networks, including segmentation and boundary defense.
• Knowledge of network monitoring and performance optimization across dispersed locations.
• Experience with RMF compliance, vulnerability remediation, audits, and DISA STIGs.
• Experience supporting operational events requiring timely resolution of network issues.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise and tactical network architectures.
• Support classified and unclassified training networks.
• Configure routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and network management systems.
• Maintain network availability and performance across geographically dispersed locations.
• Support connectivity between live platforms, simulators, command centers, and remote training participants.
• Implement boundary defense solutions and network segmentation.
• Maintain firewall rules and access controls.
• Support cybersecurity audits, vulnerability remediation, and RMF compliance.
• Monitor network traffic for anomalies and security incidents; lead during major fleet and coalition events.
• Monitor network health during exercises and resolve connectivity issues.
