Job summary

Serco Inc. in the Washington, DC area seeks a Senior Subject Matter Expert/Functional Area Expert (SME/FAE) to support DoD WHS in procuring and managing a large facilities portfolio. The role is based in the Alexandria/DC metropolitan region and requires an active DoD Secret clearance.

You will provide strategic guidance, lead complex analyses, and collaborate with senior executives across DoD organizations to optimize portfolio performance and resource allocations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in related technical field.
• 20 years of total work experience with 10 years of relevant DoD experience.
• An active DoD Secret security clearance.
• Ability to work with senior executives across Military Departments and DoD organizations.
• Experience in strategy formulation, execution, and DoD resource planning.
• Expert knowledge of OSD, Joint Staff, and Military Departments policies and procedures.
• Ability to conduct thorough analyses of a broad range of factors for decision-making.
• Travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-visibility or mission critical aspects of the SPD client’s programs. Independently perform functional duties and oversee efforts of less senior staff.
• Provide strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program and project staff.
• In response to client-directed challenges, provide creative recommendations for portfolio management improvements or optimization with detailed analysis.
• Assist in analyzing and developing improvement options for HR, budget development and execution, logistics, facilities management, administrative security, and contract management.
• Supervise studies and lead surveys to collect and analyze data.
