Job summary

Blue Origin in the United States seeks an experienced design engineer to develop safety-critical mechanical components for pressurized docking mechanisms. You will collaborate with NASA and partners, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the full design cycle from concept to flight hardware documentation.

You should have a BS in Engineering, 10+ years in aerospace mechanical design, hands-on CREO experience, and a solid grasp of GD&T and qualification testing.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required; aerospace background preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in aerospace or related mechanical design.
• Experience with safety-critical mechanisms and spaceflight hardware.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop safety-critical mechanical components for pressurized docking mechanisms.
• Mentor junior engineers and support project teams.
• Lead design reviews, analyze requirements, generate drawings and interface control documents.
• Plan testing and qualification of flight hardware with GD&T documentation.
