Job summary

Blue Origin in Florida seeks a senior mechanical design engineer for the Docking Mechanisms Subsystem within the Lunar Permanence unit. You will contribute to safety-critical hardware for pressurized docking mechanisms, participating in conceptual and detailed design, analysis, and test planning.

You will mentor junior engineers, generate drawings and specs, manage suppliers, and support development testing and qualification to meet cost and schedule goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
• Experience designing aerospace/mechanical systems.
• Strong design, integration, and mechanism analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop safety-critical mechanical components for pressurized docking mechanisms.
• Coach, mentor, and assist junior engineers.
• Participate in full design cycle of flight hardware including drawings and interface control documents.
