Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Docking Mechanisms Engineer III to design safety-critical mechanical components for pressurized docking systems as part of the Lunar Permanence program. You will lead the full design cycle, create component/assembly drawings, and develop interface control documents with GD&T per ASME Y14.5, while coordinating testing and qualification activities.

You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with NASA partners, contributing to a scalable lunar docking

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of experience designing aerospace or equivalent mechanical systems.
• Strong mechanical design, integration, and mechanism analysis skills with 3D modeling.
• Experience with qualification testing and documentation.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop safety-critical mechanical components and systems for pressurized docking mechanisms.
• Lead the complete design cycle from concept to flight hardware with drawings and interface documents.
• Perform GD&T and tolerance analyses; develop test plans and support qualification activities.
• Prepare assembly and test documentation; coordinate with suppliers and integration teams.
• Collaborate in an agile, small-team environment to adapt to shifting priorities.
