Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced design engineer to develop safety-critical mechanical components for pressurized docking mechanisms and to guide junior engineers. You will participate in the full flight hardware design cycle, ensuring qualification and reliability within cost and schedule constraints.

The role emphasizes strong GD&T knowledge, 3D modeling in CREO, and collaboration across a small, agile team on aerospace systems and docking interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
• Experience in aerospace or flight hardware design preferred.
• Strong mechanical design, integration, and mechanism analysis skills.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 GD&T and tolerance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop safety-critical mechanical components for pressurized docking mechanisms.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Engage in the full design cycle from concept to qualification of flight hardware.
• Create drawings and interfaces and support subsystem testing and data analysis.
