Qualifications

The Senior Division Order Analyst job is located in downtown Denver with in-office, hybrid, and remote schedules available.

Role Description:

The Senior Division Order Analyst is an individual contributor within the Land department, responsible for owning and executing the Division Order and ownership administration functions across the asset lifecycle. This role serves as the company’s primary resource for division orders, ownership and revenue deck administration, JIB deck maintenance, DOI analysis, suspense resolution, title implementation, and ownership data integrity.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Division Order professional with strong expertise in upstream oil and gas ownership administration, title analysis, and complex ownership matters. This position requires the ability to independently analyze and resolve ownership issues while collaborating effectively with Land, Accounting & Finance, Operations, and third-party stakeholders. Experience working with Rocky Mountain assets, including Colorado, is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and administer Division Orders, ownership changes, transfers, and supporting ownership documentation, including the analysis and implementation of probate materials, title updates, pooling and unitization instruments, and other ownership-related documents.
  • Perform revenue-related ownership administration, including ownership verification, revenue deck review and reconciliation, and resolution of ownership discrepancies affecting revenue distribution.
  • Review title opinions and curative documents and coordinate the resolution of complex ownership and title-related issues.
  • Assess business risk associated with ownership and title matters and clearly communicate findings and recommended actions to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Maintain ownership information in land systems; ensure alignment across land, revenue, and accounting records; and take ownership of data integrity, reconciliation, and quality control.
  • Support ownership and title due diligence through research, document review, ownership analysis, and data validation.
  • Manage ownership and title-related suspense, including research, cure, release, and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate and coordinate with operators, working interest owners, royalty owners, attorneys, and other external stakeholders regarding ownership, title, and Division Order matters.
  • Prepare and maintain ownership reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure ownership administration activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain Division Order and ownership administration procedures, controls, and workflows; identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with Land, Accounting & Finance, Operations, Executive Leadership, and third-party stakeholders to resolve ownership matters and support operational and corporate objectives.
  • Perform other ownership administration duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Energy Management, Petroleum Land Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of directly relevant oil and gas Division Order and ownership administration experience preferred; minimum of 5 years required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Division Orders, revenue ownership, DOI and decimal interest calculations, ownership analysis, and complex ownership changes.
  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas leases, title opinions, assignments, probate documents, pooling and unitization instruments, and other documents affecting ownership, with the ability to interpret and accurately implement resulting ownership interests and associated burdens.
  • Demonstrated experience researching and resolving complex ownership, title, and suspense matters.
  • Strong proficiency with land management systems and related ownership and revenue platforms, including experience maintaining and reconciling ownership data.
  • Experience working with Colorado oil and gas assets is required; experience with assets and records in Weld, Larimer, and Adams Counties is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex ownership matters to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and adapt to evolving business and operational needs.

Success in this role requires independent ownership of the Division Order and ownership administration function, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage complex ownership, title, suspense, and revenue-related matters. Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $140,000. Actual individual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other organizational needs. In addition, our Benefits & Compensation package includes medical and dental coverage, 401(k) match, and generous paid time off.
