• Investigate and resolve issues related to division orders, ownership disputes, and payment discrepancies.
• Build rapport with remitters of revenue and reconcile interest discrepancies to ensure timely payments.
• Maintain and update ownership records in land management systems.
• Assist in resolving accounting issues as needed.
• Create and maintain mineral, lease, tract, division order, and well records.
• Work with land and accounting teams to meet company goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Division Order Analyst | Temp-to-Hire | Dallas, TX

Our client, a well-established energy company based in Dallas, TX, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Division Order Analyst to join their team. The Division Order Analyst will be responsible for processing incoming division orders, managing and maintaining records of net revenue interest for incoming revenue, and ensuring accurate distribution of incoming royalties across the company's various entities. The role requires a thorough understanding of division orders, calculation of mineral and royalty interests, and oil and gas accounting principles.

A qualifying candidate must be able to work independently, though with ample support and mentorship as needed from other members of the land team.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review and process incoming division orders from operators and purchasers
• Calculate and verify complex divisions of interest from source records
• Analyze and interpret title opinions, mineral ownership reports, conveyances, assignments, leases, operating agreements, pooling and unitization agreements, and other title documents and oil and gas agreements to verify interests and update land records
• Assist the land team in interpretation of leases in connection with division orders to determine if leases are held by production or have terminated
• Investigate and resolve issues related to division orders, ownership disputes, and payment discrepancies, and serve as a strong advocate for the company's interests to ensure proper royalty payments
• Build rapport with remitters of revenue and maintain effective communication to quickly reconcile interest discrepancies or assets held in suspense, and ensure correct, timely revenue payments in accordance with lease terms
• Maintain and update ownership records in the company's land management systems, working closely with other members of the land team to maintain data integrity
• Assist in resolving accounting issues as needed
• Create and/or maintain mineral, lease, tract, division order, and well records, including physical folders, digital folders, and company database records
• Work effectively with land and accounting teams to meet company goals
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience with interest calculations and division order analysis from a royalty owner perspective
• Strong understanding of oil and gas industry practices, including mineral and royalty interests, land title, and division order processes
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Self starter with a strong work ethic and a willingness to take ownership of assignments
• Able to draft business letters and emails to effectively communicate oil and gas title issues and accounting and interest calculation issues

Local candidates to Dallas, TX are preferred. This role is on site.

Core Hours and WFH Flexibility:

Core working hours generally fall between approximately 9 AM and 4 PM to overlap with the broader team, with some flexibility on start and end times. Employees are eligible for up to three work from home days per month based on individual schedules, communicated with the team in advance.
