The State of North Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a Senior Assistant District Engineer for Division 4, District 2 in Nash County. The role oversees complex highway developments, reviews, and coordination with developers, engineers, and government entities.

You will assist the District Engineer with Secondary Construction, Outdoor Advertising, and Adopt A Highway programs, and act as supervisor in their absence. Strong planning and reporting skills are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of engineering and three years of progressively responsible experience.
• Possession or eligibility for professional engineer registration in NC.
• Ability to read and interpret highway construction plans and prepare reports.

Aufgaben

• Oversee complex developments, encroachments, driveway permits, subdivisions and construction projects in Division 4 District 2.
• Lead for the Department coordinating reviews; point of contact for developers, engineers and government entities.
• Assist the District Engineer in administering Secondary Construction, Outdoor Advertising, Over Dimension Permits and Adopt A Highway.
• Serve as Supervisor in the absence of the District Engineer.
• Attend municipal coordination meetings and meetings with developers and government agencies on high-profile developments.
• Represent the Department on technical issues and advise on policies and specifications.
• Provide engineering support for Field Services Engineers.
