North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) seeks a Senior Assistant District Engineer for Nash District, NC. You will oversee complex highway developments, encroachments, driveway permits and subdivisions, coordinating reviews and acting as the primary contact for developers, engineers, and agencies.
You will assist the District Engineer with secondary construction programs, outdoor advertising, over-dimension permits and Adopt A Highway, and may supervise in the District Engineer’s
Competenze
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and three years of progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination.
- Must have or be able to obtain Professional Engineer registration in NC.
- Knowledge of highway engineering, planning, and transportation concepts.
- Experience planning, designing, scheduling, and tracking projects with minimal supervision.

- Oversee complex developments, encroachments, driveway permits, subdivisions and construction projects.
- Lead reviews and serve as the point of contact for developers, engineers and government entities.
- Assist the District Engineer in administering Secondary Construction, Outdoor Advertising, Over Dimension Permits and Adopt A Highway programs.
- Supervise in the District Engineer’s absence and represent the Department on technical issues.
- Attend municipal meetings and coordinate with partners on high-profile projects.
- Provide engineering support for Field Services Engineers.
