Job summary

Confluent, a leader in real-time data streaming, is seeking a Senior Engineer for WarpStream, a Kafka-compatible platform built on object storage with zero local disks. This fully remote role spans multiple clouds and requires building scalable backend services, improving the storage engine, and enhancing the developer console.

Qualifications

• 5+ years industry experience designing, building, scaling and supporting backend systems in production.
• Strong programming and algorithmic skills in Java/Go/C/C++/Python.
• Experience with distributed storage and systems.
• Knowledge of microservices, containers and virtualization.
• Experience driving operational excellence for large production services.

Responsibilities

• Independently drive execution of complex technical projects end to end.
• Build backend services that deliver value to customers and ensure high performance, scalability and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and debug in a complex stack including microservices and containers.
• Ensure service readiness and meet availability and performance SLAs.
