Job summary

Confluent is hiring a Senior Engineer for the WarpStream team, a Kafka-compatible data streaming platform built on object storage. You will tackle complex distributed systems, work across cloud providers, and help shape a scalable, high-performance backend stack.

You will join a fully remote, globally distributed team with engineers in multiple countries, driving execution end-to-end while delivering observable, reliable services and an excellent developer experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years industry experience designing, building, and supporting backend systems.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, C/C++, or Python.
• Strong interest in distributed storage and systems.
• Excellent delivery focus and communication skills.
• Experience operating large production services.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end execution of complex technical projects.
• Build backend services that are scalable, reliable, and high performing.
• Troubleshoot issues in a microservices/containers stack.
• Ensure service readiness and SLA compliance.
