Job summary

Confluent is seeking a Senior Engineer for the WarpStream team, a Kafka-compatible data streaming platform built atop object storage. You’ll work across the stack from network to UI, building scalable backend services and improving the control plane for multi-region deployments.

This is a fully remote, globally distributed team with engineers in multiple countries. You will solve complex distributed systems problems, drive end-to-end projects, and mentor others while delivering high-performance,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend design, build, scale and support in production.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, C/C++, Python and related technologies.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and storage concepts.
• Delivery focus with good communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Independently drive end-to-end complex technical projects.
• Build backend services that are high performance, scalable, reliable and resilient.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in a deep, multi-layer stack including microservices and containers.
• Ensure services are operationally ready and meet availability SLAs.
