Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Director, Tax Accounting (Remote-Eligible) to lead global tax provisioning, financial reporting, and forecasting across the enterprise and acquisitions.

You will collaborate with the Chief Tax Officer and finance leadership to optimize the effective tax rate, manage ASC 740 accounting, and oversee SEC disclosures while mentoring a team of four tax professionals and guiding tax planning for M&A and capital planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or quantitative discipline; CPA preferred or active
• At least 10 years' corporate tax experience in public company or large firm
• Minimum 5 years leading teams and mentoring tax professionals
• Strong expertise in ASC 740 and US GAAP tax accounting

Responsibilities

• Lead global tax provisioning (ASC 740) for quarterly and annual financials
• Oversee SEC disclosures in filings (10-K, 10-Q) with accuracy
• Manage corporate tax rate, DTA/DTL assets and liabilities
• Direct tax forecasting and capital planning with data-driven insights
• Lead M&A tax advisory and post-merger tax accounting
• Mentor a team of 4 tax professionals and build scalable processes
• Ensure SOX controls over income taxes and strong internal controls
