Job summary

Grafana is seeking a Senior Director, Solutions Engineering for the Americas to build and lead a high-performing team of Solutions Engineers. You will own the region's technical sales strategy and collaborate with Sales, Customer Experience, Marketing, Product, and Engineering to drive adoption and expansion of Grafana Cloud.

This is a technical leadership role focused on hands-on product demos, technical objections, and guiding strategic accounts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a Director-level role leading a team, plus 5–10 years in technical roles (Developer, Architect, Sales Engineer/Architect, Manager, etc.)
• Hands-on approach to technology; stay current on the product and participate in demos, deep dives, and POVs
• Experience selling monitoring, data, or visualization products with credibility with engineering and executive buyers
• Track record of success in a fast-paced, high-growth, remote-first startup environment
• Experience mentoring, developing, and managing team performance over time
• Familiarity with formal sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDPICC)
• Proven ability to own a book of business and drive quarterly targets
• Open-source selling or cloud-first GTM experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Recruit, ramp, and mentor a team of presales SE leaders and ICs from diverse backgrounds, balancing hands-on fieldwork with team leadership.
• Know products and demos well enough to move deals forward in customer conversations.
• Own the region's ARR, NRR, pipeline coverage, and forecast cadence with the team.
• Act as executive sponsor for key accounts and support evaluations, demos, deep dives, and POVs.
• Collaborate with Sales on customer programs and events to drive adoption and expansion.
• Represent customer needs to Product and Engineering and prioritize based on data.
