Job summary

Capital One seeks a Senior Director of Risk Management to lead the GPN Payment Success & Ecosystem Integrity program in Chicago. You will partner with executives to drive risk controls, protect the brand, and develop strategic programs for payment health, fraud mitigation, and disputes.

You will build and lead a 15–20 person team of risk and payments professionals, fostering a culture of performance and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or military experience is required.
• 3+ years experience in Risk Management.
• 3+ years experience in Project Management.
• 3+ years experience in People Management.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the Payment Success Program, establishing performance standards and strategic initiatives.
• Lead in deploying detection technologies and AI-augmented monitoring for fraud mitigation and compliance.
• Secure the global payment network against abuse with risk controls and security standards.
• Translate risk data into strategic insights for executives and lines of business.
• Recruit, mentor, and grow a 15–20 person risk/payments team.

Education

Bachelor's degree or military experience

Master's degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or Project Management

Six Sigma Lean, Green Belt or Black Belt certification, Agile Coach certification, Compliance Certification (CRCM)
