Job summary

Capital One seeks a Senior Director of Risk Management to lead the GPN Payment Success & Ecosystem Integrity program. You will partner with executives and business lines to drive risk controls, create strategic programs for transactional health, and mentor a high-performing team focused on fraud, authorizations, and disputes.

The role emphasizes analytics, data governance, and proactive threat mitigation across the global payment network, with oversight of governance and performance

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree or military experience
• At least 7 years of experience in Risk Management
• At least 3 years experience in Operations Management
• Masters Degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or Project Management (preferred)
• Business Process Management certification Six Sigma Lean, Green Belt or Black Belt certification, Agile Coach certification, Compliance Certification (CRCM) (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the Payment Success Program, establishing operational performance standards and strategic initiatives that optimize transactional health across fraud, authorizations, and disputes
• Lead the charge in neutralizing deceptive activities by deploying cutting-edge detection technologies and AI-augmented monitoring
• Secure Capital One’s global payment network against malicious abuse and deceptive activities by deploying AI-augmented monitoring, intelligence-driven risk controls, and robust security standards
• Serve as a trusted advisor to GPN Executives, translating complex risk data into strategic insights that safeguard the Global Payment Network
• Integrate transactional health information into a holistic lifecycle management strategy for network participants
• Establish best in class practices and optimization protocols to help participants achieve elite portfolio performance
• Foster a collaborative movement combining data science and human ingenuity to solve network challenges and build a unified front in global ecosystem defense
• Recruit, mentor, and grow a world-class team of 15–20 professionals
