Job summary

Detroit Public Schools Community District is seeking a Senior Director of Knowledge Management to lead the district's KM strategy and platforms, including The Hub and Student Hub. You will drive content, data, and technology convergence to empower staff, students, and families with fast, secure access to information.

You will own governance, architecture, and the product roadmap, while partnering with Data Services and Technology to deliver scalable solutions across a large district.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in information management systems, CS, business mgmt, public administration, or related field.
• Experience deploying a modern web app (e.g., single-page app on Azure Static Web Apps) with data sources.
• Experience with row-level security or RBAC-style data access.
• 5+ years leading enterprise KM, intranet, or digital product initiatives with roadmap responsibility.
• 3+ years leading teams and building positive team culture.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft 365 for enterprise collaboration: SharePoint Online, hub sites, governance, and Power Platform.
• Knowledge of content taxonomy and UX, restructuring content from org-based to topic-based structure.
• Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Experience building governance structures in large hierarchies; publishing standards and reporting.
• Experience enabling role-based data access so users see permitted records.
• Knowledge of accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and manage the Knowledge Management team and set annual goals aligned to strategy.
• Own the product roadmap for The Hub and Student Hub, delivering role-based views per district security rules.
• Serve as product owner for the ParentHub, sequencing delivery with Data Services and Technology.
• Build a network of content owners and ensure spaces are managed effectively.
• Develop and implement the district's internal KM strategy and content lifecycle.
• Oversee governance overhaul to topic-based content organization with clear ownership.
• Establish enduring publication standards, calendars, reviews, and reporting for leadership.
• Partner with data and technology teams to deliver secure data access per user role.
